Waroenk Kito Susilo is a versatile restaurant tucked into the Grogol neighborhood of West Jakarta, offering a mix of Chinese, Javanese, and Western dishes alongside Indonesian staples like nasi goreng. With a menu that ranges from tom yam and ayam telor asin to sapi lada hitam nasi and various seafood options, it caters to diners who enjoy both familiar local flavors and some Asian fusion touches. The variety makes it a convenient spot for groups where tastes might differ, or for those wanting to try different regional dishes in one place.

The setting here leans toward casual dining with a fairly lively atmosphere. The space gets quite bright with natural light thanks to numerous windows, though this can make the interior a bit warm, especially on Jakarta’s hotter days. Service tends to be friendly and attentive, though occasional delays suggest they can get busy enough to test efficiency. Staff members are noted to be courteous, and there’s a particular mention of the cashier’s responsible and pleasant demeanor, which contributes to a smooth overall experience at the counter.

Regulars include university students and locals from the Grogol area who appreciate the approachable pricing and generous portions, especially for vegetable-heavy dishes and favorites like tom yam and ayam rica-rica. This makes it a good weekday lunch or early dinner option for those nearby looking for a reliable, no-fuss meal with a mixture of Indonesian and Asian influences.

Visitors should expect a straightforward, comfortable environment made for easy dining rather than a refined or quiet setting. The menu’s diverse offerings mean the place suits groups or families who want multiple tastes on one table, while solo diners or pairs might find favorites like kwetiau siram or the nasi cumi telor asin filling and satisfying. Temperatures inside may call for a cooler time of day or a seat away from the windows during peak afternoon heat.

Food tastes good, although when I came the serving is quite slow (maybe the staff forgot to input my order). The atmosphere is a little bit hot, maybe due to a lot of windows

I used to dine here often during university since it's nearby. The easiest spot to get generous and affordable vegetable dishes. Tom Yum and Rica are still a favorite too.
